Success pages, or thank you pages, are pages on your website that users are directed to after completing a form successfully. In their simplest form, they should give the user confirmation that their submission was successful and thank them for whatever action they took (completing a purchase, making a donation, registering for an event). They can also be used to invite the user to complete additional actions, such as signing up for a newsletter, sharing content on social media, or downloading additional content.
Success pages are useful for tracking form submissions on your website. Since users are only directed to the success page once an action has been completed, a destination goal can be set up in Google Analytics to track how many visits the success page has received. This is particularly useful in situations where Google Tag Manager can’t be used, such as if the form being completed is within an iFrame, or if the form is on another domain (in this case, the user would need to be redirected back to your site).
